U.S., Japan, and Canada annual trilateral meetings on wood products:

TheMinistry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) represented Japan in theBuilding Experts Committee Meeting (BEC) and the Ministry of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) led Japan's participation in the JapanAgricultural Standards technical committee meeting (JASTC) October 11-13. The BEC meeting focused on construction andbuilding codes, including fire and earthquake related standards, as they relateto building products. The JASTC meeting focused on the JAS quality labelingsystem that applies to various wood products such as flooring, panels, gluedlaminated timber, and lumber. The U.S.delegation consisted of members from FAS, FCS and industry.
