Holiday Recipe Contest Draws Media to Promote U.S. Food:
On December 15, the Japan Food Information Center hosted a Christmas Cake
and Holiday Cookie Recipe Contest. Three finalists in each category were
selected based on the quality and creativity of their recipes as well as
their use of U.S. ingredients. The event was covered by the Japan Times
newspaper and the gourmet television program, Foodies TV, which will run
the program several times over a two week period. The winning recipes were:
Berry Chocolate Cookies by Ms. Yuki Noguchi and White Christmas Wreath
Cake by Ms. Manami Ota. Both of these products will be featured at the
Nacora bakery, which is attached to a California style restaurant in Tokyo.
